JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and execute commercial activities across various market segments and channels. This role will have a focus on maritime/port activity, rail/intermodal customers, and over-the-road transportation for dry and refrigerated commodities within the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, exploring new business opportunities, and building strong client relationships. A proven track record in sales management and business development, along with strong leadership and communication skills, are essential for this position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Proactively identify and acquire new business opportunities in line with GSC's business model.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships at multi-tier levels to grow revenue.
  • Craft custom-tailored presentations that resonate with individual clients, fostering engagement.
  • Generate sales activity reports on a weekly basis and maintain updates in HubSpot/Salesforce.
  • Leverage research tools to design targeted marketing efforts aimed at new business.
  • Set specific, measurable, and time-bound targets to drive the achievement of individual goals.
  • Develop and maintain rapport internally with various departments to ensure strong communication to build customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Lead and participate in the customer onboarding process, coordinating with all departments to implement services for a new client.
  • Plan and conduct customer entertainment appropriately as required based on overall volume, revenue potential, and profitability.
  • Extensive travel, including out-of-state, up to 25%.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferably 5 years managing sales and account acquisition in the drayage, NVOCC, freight forwarding, or maritime industry segment.
  • Possess excellent knowledge of key supply chain processes and is experienced in consultative and flexible sales approaches for clients of all sizes and various needs.
  • Demonstrate experience of success in meeting goals composed of revenue, customer base, and profit growth in prior assignments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization skills, and entrepreneurial mentality.
  • Understand the industrial makeup and business activity within the geographic area, the competition and their locations, scope of service, pricing, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Experienced with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Available to work evenings, rare weekends, and travel as necessary.

JOB DETAILS:

This role is a full-time, Monday - Friday position. The hours for this role are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

The hourly salary range for this role is $120,000 - 125,000.

BENEFIT DETAILS:

GSC Solutions provides a medical insurance package for its regular full-time employees, including optional coverage for their spouses and dependents. GSC also provides a life insurance policy for its regular full-time employees. Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the company 401k plan and are available to accrue vacation and sick time. Managers are eligible for bonuses up to 8% of their annual comp - should the company meet projected annual margins.
